Celebrating St. Petersburg's and central west Florida's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities
in what is destined to become one of the largest Pride celebrations in the Southeastern United States, this month-long
celebration will include community outreach events and parties, antique car show, cultural exhibitions and art auctions,
and the traditional Pride Promenade(our Parade) and Street Festival. St. Pete Pride will continue to promote St. Petersburg
as one of the most culturally rich and diverse communities in the Southeast United States.
St. Pete Pride's inaugural celebration held in June of 2003 was a tremendous success in all aspects. The Promenade wound
through the Historic Kenwood Neighborhood to cheering crowds along Central Avenue, and unfurled a 900 foot rainbow flag,
courtesy of Georgie's Alibi. The Promenade ended where the Street Festival began. St Pete Pride's Street Festival drew an
estimated 10,000 visitors of all ages to the Grand Central District, providing great opportunities for over 120 vendors.
The 3rd Annual celebration grew again in size, with over 220 vendors, and an estimated 35,000 attendees.
